two years....wow.

After working what seemed like ALL FREAKIN' DAY (10:15am-5:45pm), I grab dinner with mom and headed home for a bit. Then I got myself done up and headed out to Moxies to meet up with some friends. One of my good friends from high school, Candice, was celebrating her second anniversary with her guy, Ryan. So sweet. I can't believe they've been together for two years though. I mean, I have never had a relationship with a guy last that long. It amazes me. One day...one day I'll be in their shoes. Sigh.

The happy couple. Aww.

It was a fun night though. I had a pear cider (of course), and after others finished their dinner and dessert (ahem...Katya), we went for a nice walk over to Ryan's place. Stopped and got snacks and a movie along the way. We rented "Girl Next Door." Now wait, before you go and get all judgemental on us - it was actually a pretty funny movie! We were pleasantly surprised to say the least! Totally a movie for high school boys (or men who think they're still high school boys, hahaha), but entertaining for all.

Me and Katya and the dessert. Hahaha.

The dessert. I believe it was called a Strawberry Romanoff.

Ok. So here's my rant for the night: Katya and I (who are of course non-drivers) called a taxi to take us home. We dropped Katya off first, and then kept going to my house. We got there and it was $9.90. I had no cash on me, and had planned on just using my Visa. WELL. The driver gave me such attitude for that! I was shocked! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE CREDIT CARDS, THEN POST A SIGN THAT SAYS YOU DON'T!!! Don't get all flustered and frustrated with the customer. Holy mother! I even had to fill out the price part...so I have him a $1.10 tip, and made it an even $11. Bloody hell he didn't deserve that much! Omg. So mad. ARGH.

Okay. Rant over.

Now I'm back home...in my pj's, and almost ready for bed. Such a lovely night. Nothing like hanging out with friends on a Saturday night....can't beat that. As Katya says, "priceless."

ramblings (aka trying to catch up on the past few weeks)

So I survived house/baby-sitting for my aunt and uncle. I did it! Haha. I never really had any doubts though...I've always been good with kids. And I can be organized, which helps...I think. Anyway, so I came home from house-sitting late on June 12th. Worked early that Monday, but started to feel sick that week...:( Luckily, I had Tuesday and Wednesday off from work. The next Saturday (the 18th) was my mom's big 50th Birthday Party! It was fun. Almost 50 people came, and had a few drinks and enjoyed some yummy food. It was fun getting to hang out with friends and family all together - I actually didn't have too many friends there, but I know most of my mom's. Lol. Michelle and Jaclyn stopped by later on...yay them! hehe.

Since Saturday, I've been sick. It's sucked. Booooo :( Right now, I've partially lost my voice too! Ugh! No fun when you work at a coffee house. I mean, you need to talk to customers to find out what they want to order, how much it'll cost them, to tell them when they're drink is made. Argh. Oh well, I'm hoping it'll go away soon. *fingers crossed* I have noticed though, that cherry is the main flavour for anything related to sore throats. Why is this? Who decided that cherry should be the main flavour? What about strawberries?? They're good too! Sigh.

Some more exciting news...is my moving out!! Meg (aka my Winnipeg friend, haha) is moving out here in September, and we're going to get an apartment together! It's very exciting! I've got so much stuff already (cutlery, spice jars, and mugs and much, much more! LOL). Last night, I went and bought some plates, small plates and bowls from Ikea. They're sweet. I just can't wait to move out. This is something that I've been excited about for a LONG time. It's almost hard to believe it's actually happening...but in just over 65 days I'll be in my own place!!! Weeeeeeeeee!!

Well, I need to go and clean up the kitchen and start to get ready for work...here are a few random pics from the past few weeks...

OMG! I'm not really sure what was going on here...haha. All I know, is that it was at the Arduini's birthday party...and yes, I'd had a few drinks. I think Amy might've taken this one. Hmm. LOL.

Heather and our cousin Gillian...yeah...I know they're both 19, but umm, I don't think they'd been drinking yet. LOL.

I'll update already! LOL. But not yet. I'm tired, sick, and hot. Ahhh....life is grrreat right now.

Anyway, I realize it's been over 2 weeks since I wrote in here, so I'll make a point of writing and posting some pics either later tonight or tomorrow.

Later...

blog interupted

Starting Monday night, I'm going to be baby-sitting AND house-sitting for my aunt and uncle. It should be fun. Probably won't post much while I'm there, and I don't have any big plans before then...so...as Sarah put it "blog interupted." Haha.

Me with the boys - this was back in February, but I don't think I have a more recent photo with both of them.

Lil' Eric. So cute!

Big Boy Robbie. He'll be a big help this week I'm sure :)

hot days, and even hotter nights

Holy crazy week! It's been nuts...quick recap:

Thursday: Mirage with Katya and Candice. We felt a bit too old, mature and over-dressed to be there. At least highballs were $.99...weee!

Friday: Katya and I headed to Central City Brewing Co. Watched a Tragically Hip cover band ("The Almost Hip"), ate some yummy food, had a few drinks, played a couple rounds of pool and flirted with the guys. It was a h-o-t night too!

Saturday: Katya and I (yeah, yeah...we're good friends okay?! Haha) went over to Planet Java to shoot some pool, and have some tea. Afterwards, we grabbed a bagel from Tim Horton's and went and sat outside my Starbucks to enjoy the evening, cool air.

Sunday: Nothing exciting - I worked at night...awful shift.

Monday: Worked, had an unexpected visitor show up right at the end of my shift - so we decided to sit down, and talk a bit. A couple of hours later....Katya showed up, and the two of us took off. Stopped by the mall, dinner at Earl's: Margarita Monday! Then we went and saw the new animated movie, "Madagascar" - inviting along the unexpected visitor. The movie was fantastic! Stopped at Boston Pizza for a couple of drinks afterwards, and then everyone headed home. Good times.

Tuesday: Katya, Katrina (a friend from high school) and I went to Central City. Had a drink, shared some appies, and bought our tickets for Friday night. It was nice have a girl's night out - we talked about anything and everything!

Wednesday: Crazy day!

The Starbucks logo at my store.

I met up with Sergio at Starbucks, and then him, me and Sarah drove downtown. We hung out at the apartment in Yaletown that she's house-sitting, and had a drink.

The view from down under...actually, the view from the balcony.

Andria and Sarah...hanging out and drinking beer.

Andria came and met up with us, and we hung out eating some yummy Miss Vicki's Lime & Black Pepper chips.

Mmmm...

Headed over to The Templeton for dinner (mmm...good chicken burger - heard the soup was fantastic too!), and stopped by the liquor store on the way back to the apartment. Got back and went photo-taking-crazy and talked lots.

Me...taking my picture in the mirror. Haha.

Sergio: Snap Happy!

Such great people I work with! (Oh yeah - Sergio, Sarah and I all work together and Andria used to work with us). Ashley (yet another coworker) joined up with us, and then there were five. We walked over to the Commodore Ballroom, and met up with Katya. The six of us were going to see Danny Michel (who was opening for Kathleen Edwards - but we're not really a fan of hers). We lovvve Danny! He had such a great show, I'm so happy we went.

Our tickets...yeah, we actually saw Danny Michel and not much of Kathleen Edwards, but his name wasn't on the tickets.

Moi and Katya...."hold me up...or I might fall!"

Our feet! Guess who they belong to.....? Hehe.

Me playing peek-a-boo over Serge's shoulder...Smile Andria, smile!

Mmm...Danny.

Sigh...Danny.

We stuck around to talk to him a bit, and give Kathleen a chance...but alas, she didn't win us over. So we headed over to the Dufferin (I think that's how you spell it) - a gay bar, haha. It was hilarious in there! By then, four of us were quite intoxicated....LMAO. Ashley and Katya took off not too long after we got there, but the original four hung in. Hehe. Eventually, after a couple of pitchers of beer (Bravo Serge for polishing off almost one on your own!), we meandered back to the apartment. We enjoyed some more tortilla chips and salsa, and then Andria decided she should take off. Serge and I were crashing there for the night, so after having some yummy pizza, we crashed. Quite the day! 8 drinks in a time span of 10 hours...hmmmmm.

Thursday, yesterday: Sarah had to be at work super early, so Serge and I obviously just came back with her. I found myself eating breakfast at McDonald's at 7:30am. WTF? Haha. Came home...and went to sleep. I didn't wake up till after 2pm. Spent the evening at home alone, and then went out for a bit with Alison and Christine A. Nice, relaxing (aka 'recovering') day.

Friday, today: I worked at 6am. So early! Eek. Fun time at work...it always helps when the people you're working with are having fun too. Hehe. Katey and I even 'named' a customer...he never came while I was there though. We think he looks like a "Sean"...tee hee. So cute he is! After work, I was supposed to have a dentist appointment - but he put his back out, so my appointment was cancelled. Ahh well. Came home and relaxed a bit. Swept. Dusted. Washed some dishes. Did a general pick up on the main floor. Went grocery shopping. Had dinner (raw veggies, nugget potatoes & crab cakes), and now this. Katya and I might do something tonight...we're both being quite wishy-washy today though, lol.

Ok. Now that you're all caught up...I'm going to watch some TV.
